Young V&A

Young V&A is the world's first museum designed specifically for children and young people aged 0-14, housed in a beautifully restored Victorian building in Bethnal Green. The museum features three main galleries that encourage hands-on exploration: Imagine, where little ones can crawl through giant dewdrops and play in Alice in Wonderland-inspired spaces; Play, which showcases toys and games from around the world with plenty of interactive elements; and Design, where children can experiment with materials, patterns, and creative processes. The thoughtfully designed spaces include soft play areas for toddlers, accessible facilities, and plenty of room for pushchairs.

What sets Young V&A apart is its commitment to learning through play and discovery. Children can dress up in period costumes, handle real museum objects, and participate in creative workshops that change regularly. The museum's lower level houses a fantastic collection of childhood objects from different eras and cultures, while the upper galleries focus on contemporary design and making. There's also a lovely café serving child-friendly meals and a shop filled with unique toys and books that you won't find elsewhere in London, making it easy to extend the creative experience at home.
