The Shed placement display
Young V&A
From the venue
Meet Amanda in The Shed, her studio space in the Design Gallery at Young V&A.
Amanda has completed a six-month placement to develop a creative textile project inspired by the museum’s collections, she has created a materials library of experimental textiles such as sewing, quilting, felting, weaving, and more, and an experimental colour changing textile installation. Amanda will also display the work produced by local KS3 students during her textile takeover workshops at Young V&A.
With a background in fashion, costume, and textile design, Amanda works with textiles related to the body and spatially. Her project focuses on sustainable textile practices, using recycled materials and leftover (deadstock) fabrics found locally.
If you're interested in textiles, design, or sustainability, come say hi and see what Amanda has worked on over the past six months.
